Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some most commonly asked questions, for more information beyond these answers feel free to contact me.

01

What are your hours of work?

I strive for work life harmony so most weeks I am in my office Monday to Thursday. I have availability for new clients that can attend sessions during the day as my late afternoon and evening appointments are

occupied by my current clients. I offer face to face sessions and online sessions through a secure virtual platform.

02

Do you offer a free consultation?

I believe it is important for you to feel confident that we might be a good fit. A fifteen-minute free consultation can be scheduled before you decide to work with me. We can talk on the phone or meet

online. This gives me a chance to ask you a few questions and for you to ask me questions or tell me a bit about what is bringing you to therapy. Please use the contact button (found under the contact tab) to request a consultation.

03

Where are you located?

My office is located in Riverside Office Plaza and our address is 4919-59 Street in Red Deer, Alberta.

There is free parking available on the north and south sides of the building. We are located on the second floor in Suite 202. You can access the second floor by using the elevator or stairs.

04

What is the cost for therapy?

I follow the recommended fee schedule for psychologists registered in Alberta. The cost for a session is $220.

I am also licensed to provide online sessions for clients who live in the NWT or Yukon. The cost is also $220 per session.

05

How long are sessions?

Sessions are between 50 minutes and 1 hour. Psychologists are trained to work with a 50 minute hour.

This is meant to give us time to do therapeutic work and have a few minutes at the end to schedule a follow up appointment and review therapeutic goals. This also gives me a few minutes to dictate session notes into your individual and confidential file.

90 minute sessions are also available for clients that like more time to work on a specific concern or for those that feel like the typical session goes by too fast. This can give us time to really explore strategies

in session if you aren’t interested in doing therapeutic homework between sessions. The fee for a longer session is adjusted accordingly.

Please note that some therapeutic modalities require 90 minute sessions for maximum benefits.

06

Do you direct bill to my insurance company?

I can direct bill to most insurance companies. A few providers do not allow psychologists to direct bill so in that case the client is required to pay for the session and use your copy of the invoice to seek reimbursement. Clients must have a credit card payment on file to cover the uninsured portion. You can also pay by e-transfer for the session fee if you prefer.

It is a good idea to find out what your psychology coverage is ahead of your first appointment.

07

What if I need to cancel?

Life happens which can affect our schedule so you can cancel 24 hours ahead of time without a cancellation fee. You will receive access to my online portal where you can easily cancel and reschedule

sessions. You can also leave me a voicemail or email me if you need to cancel.

When you cancel with less than 24 hours notice a late fee may apply. This is fully explained in the informed consent form which clients are required to complete before we meet for our first session.
